Message from Space (1978)
In the wake of Star Wars came many a clone, many of these clones were low budget, and many of them weren’t very good. But, Message from Space was, in my opinion, one of the better clones, and it’s still fun to watch even to this very day.
For those of us that grew up on a steady diet of Godzilla, Ultraman, Creature Double Feature, and Black Belt Theater, this is almost a welcome sight, and it’s certainly something that will bring a smile to your face. With direction by Kinji Fukasaku (the man who would go on to direct the seemingly notorious, acclaimed, and legendary Battle Royale), performances from Vic Morrow, and martial arts favorite Sonny Chiba, Message has something for many a fan-boy, and I definitely recommend seeking this brilliant little flick out. But, good luck on finding it, it’s not easy to come by, and I can assure you your search will take some time:
